Hard / Formable

Formable Hardcoat Coating
Formable hardcoat has less abrasion resistance than standard hardcoats but can be thermoformed. Formable hardcoats allow significant cost savings by pre-coating flat sheets, which can be later formed to the unique desired configuration.
Coating - FHC130 Specifications
| Substrate: | Polycarbonate sheet |
|---|---|
| Adhesion: | 100% Cross hatch adhesion, ASTM D3359 |
| Coating thickness: | 3.0 to 8.0 microns |
| Taber abrasion: | <15 % increase in haze (500 gram load, CS10F wheels at 500 cycles) ASTM D1044 |
| Water Immersion: | One hour immersion in RO water at 212U F, no loss of coating |
| Formable: | Coated product can be thermoformed. Substrate thickness and film thickness will determine the maximum elongation and bend radius. |
| Chemical resistance: | Alcohols, gasoline, kerosene, heptane, xylene, detergents, window cleaners, glycol ethers, motor oils, ethylene glycol, diesel fuel. |
| Sample preparation: | A 6" x 6" polycarbonate panel was cleaned with isopropanol then blown off with an ionizing air gun. The sample was dip coated and allowed to dry for 20 minutes then cured at 265U F for 120 minutes. |
